Good news for the tech sector: TechCrunch is reporting that 3rd quarter acquisitions are up 3x over last quarter, and venture deals are up 17.5%.

Jenna Wortham reports for the New York Times’ Bits Blog that Digg.com’s sponsored links are popular with users and are generating revenue for the company. Digg says after 5 years of building community, its time to spend another 5 years building the business. Maybe so, but not everyone has that luxury.

9to5 Mac: Don’t Expect iPhone Tethering “Soon”

Despite making such a claim, AT&T tells 9 to 5 Mac that it didn’t promise it by the end of the year and asked them to correct published reports to the contrary. So don’t expect to see tethering on the iPhone in the United States until sometime in 2010.
